Honestly, my decision making progress is all over the place when creating, I often don't sketch my projects out before starting and just go with my instincts. I often make last minute changes to my projects and scrap them as a result. That's another goal for me next year; to develop a better thinking and planning process. As far as selecting materials and tools, i like to optimize and use the tools and materials that are put in front of me. Like, I did my metal-phor project in mesh instead of aluminum because it was cheaper and not a lot of students in my classroom were using it to cover their entire project.
I don't feel like so many of my experiences relate to my artwork so much as my earlier pieces this year related to actual problems that humans have everyday, and giving them a voice. I think my art has evolved into more advanced projects, seeing how most of my art before this year was basically doodles on scrap paper. I believe that the hardest part about being an artist is taking all the ideas in your head and being able to accurately represent them on paper or in a sculpture. I feel like I was on a little bit of a downhill slope, I started out the semester pretty well, but slowly started putting less energy and theme in my art as a whole. That's another thing I really need to work on as an artist, persevering through projects and keeping that energy and though, and being able to put them into my art.
